| Art major
Laura Krapacher is currently working as an intern at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City, and following completion of the internship, will join the Museum staff as an art handler. |

Biology major

The NJCU Jazz Ensemble performed on Thursday, 27 May in New York at the " Jazz on the Plaza Series" at 12:30pm. This series features jazz groups from around the tri-state region who perform free outdoor concerts at 54th St. & Lexington Avenue, adjacent to St. Peters Church. |

| The Jazz Ensemble, a 17-piece group directed by Professor Ed Joffe, featured NJCU faculty member and saxophonist Bob Malach as guest soloist with the band. This wa the ensemble's 2nd appearance on this Series in recent years. |
| On Tuesday and Wednesday, 4-5 May, Media Arts majors
Robert Astudillo,
Irving Abreu, and
Jessie Abreu presented a Godzilla Exhibit in the Fries Hall TV studio, that included a screening of the original (1954) Japanese edition of the movie,

2010 Science Showcase
On Wednesday, 21 April, the College sponsored the 2010 Science Showcase, an opportunity for students in biology, chemistry, geoscience, and physics to share poster presentations of their work (click here for more pics of the show).

Good news from our English Department's creative writing program. Senior
Krystal Sital, has been accepted in the MFA program in Creative Writing at Hunter College, currently considered one of the best in the country, with faculty like Louise DeSalvo, Kathryn Harrison, and Meena Alexander. Krystal also has created and maintains two online fora for collaborative writing whose members and contributors come from across the United States.

The Instigator, a monthly publication featuring short stories in all genres, poetry, plays, and artwork, usually in the form of a comic |

Lisa Halpern and
Richard Buntzen
(MFA 2009), a student and a recent alum in the Art Department 's MFA program, were among 37 of 100 artists whose work is included in an exhibition for the Arts Council of the Morris Area in Morristown, NJ. Prof. Midori Yoshimoto, Art Department, guest curated the exhibition. The opening is 19 February, from 5-7:30 and is part of the Morristown Gallery Walk. |

Ammar Rizvi an undergraduate student in the Biology Department was selected to participate in a winter break internship with the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Ammar, (click the pic to enlarge, he's third from left) is a fulltime NJCU student and currently interns for three New Jersey Podiatric Physicians. |

| Four NJCU students -- seniors
Kelly Cuenca (Union),
Elias Jimenez (Jersey City), juniors
Chazz Jogie (Jersey City) and
Stephanie Herrera (Union City) -- placed first in the Art Directors Club of New Jersey (ADCNJ) Design Derby, an annual statewide competition that presents contestants with a real-life design challenge. The four winners are all art majors specializing in illustration, and were among 102 students from New Jersey colleges and universities competing. |
