  • Improve Delivery of Online Instruction
  • Learn to Manage Your Files in WebCT
  • Maximize Instructor/Student Communication and Student/Student Communication

This presentation is for the instructor who is new to online teaching or for instructors who would like to improve the delivery of instruction to students enrolled in their online courses. Participants will learn how WebCT can be used to deliver an effective and engaging online course including file and communication management.

WebCT allows you to upload files to use in your course and to share these with students. Having an organizational structure for these files is important. This workshop will cover file management for WebCT including how to set up a WebDAV so that you can drag and drop files into your course.

Creating an online class that gives students a feel of belonging and community is tricky to do. An overview of WebCT’s mail, discussion forum, and chat features will be discussed and demonstrated. The pros and cons of asynchronous versus synchronous communication will be discussed. Strategies for maximizing instructor/student and student/student communication will be explored.
