Please join your colleagues for a series of informal discussions about the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. You are not required to commit to the entire series - attend at your convenience.

Last semester’s lunch hour discussions were especially enjoyable covering a wide range of topics allowing for the free expression of interests and differing opinions.

Suggested Topics for Discussion:

  • Teaching Diverse Learners
  • Teaching Practices You Have Found to be Effective
  • Areas of Weakness You Wish to Address
  • Using Action Research in the University Classroom

Questions You Might Raise:

  • Can interactive exercises increase student learning?
  • Do students really learn more in smaller classes?
  • Can group work aid individual learning?
  • Do examples enhance or confuse student learning?
  • Can technology help students do more than recall facts?

These sessions are part of the process of developing an interdisciplinary learning community that addresses specific themes and individual areas of interest important to the improvement of student learning.
