Success Strengthening Srategies: Persistence, Determination, and Focus

For most students, success in school, identifying and gaining access to a fulfilling job and career pose significant challenges. The Success Strengthening Strategies: Persistence, Determination, and Focus workshop will help faculty instill in students a workable system to help them develop confidence in their abilities to persist in the face of the many challenges both academic and social that might deter them from attaining their goals and dreams.

This 3 hour workshop will address the topic of metacognition or “thinking about your thinking” through: self regulation, visualizing meaningful goals, thinking from the end, using power boosting words, improving personal competence, resilience thinking, self-efficacy and high expectations, stepping outside your comfort zone, responding to intuition with flash thinking and action, developing a support team, and the importance of cognitive rehearsal.
