Claims – Claims are statements made by the program about the accomplishments of candidates and graduates. In the inquiry brief proposal, claims are framed as questions to be examined through the research process described in the proposal. The claims put forth in the proposal must include all claims publicly made by the program.
Evidence – The current assessment measures, which are valid and reliable. A minimum of 2 pieces of evidences is required to support the claims. Assessment measures include assessment instruments, e.g. embedded assignments, as well as other sources of evidence, e.g. GPA.
Inquiry Brief (IB) – It is a collaborative action research report. It describes the program overview, claims and rationale, methods of assessment, results, discussion, plan, references, and appendices about a single program. The document is no more than 50 page (excluding appendices) and must be in APA style.
Inquiry Brief Proposal (IBP) – It is an action research proposal, and a scholarly work. The document is no more than 50 pages and must be in APA style.
Program – A bundle of program options which share some commonalities.
Program option – Different professional licensure and specialty area, level, and outcome. (Ex. Elementary Ed is an option, LDTC is an option, School psychology is an option, etc.)
Quality Principles – TEAC standards and expectations of the program. Teacher education and educational leadership programs have different quality principles.
