To be eligible to apply for the New Jersey real estate broker examination, an individual must have worked as a licensed real estate salesperson for at least the past three years and must complete 150 hours of pre-licensing education. The educational requirement is met by completing three courses: the 90-hour “General Core” course, which must be completed first, and two 30-hour courses: “Ethics and Agency” and “Office Management.” Those who successfully complete all three courses may submit an application to take the real estate broker examination to the New Jersey Real Estate Commission. Examination eligibility is determined by the Commission.
