Domestic Violence Awareness Month
 
 
 
Since 1987, October has been recognized in the United States as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  During this annual observance, organizations nationwide hold events and focus media attention on the problem of domestic violence, and provide education on ways to prevent it and how to get help.
