Making Appointments
Day or evening appointments may be made by coming to the Counseling Center or by calling
(201) 200-3165 during office hours. When making an appointment, you will be asked for your name, your Gothic ID number, and a telephone number you can be reached at. We will make every effort to schedule you for an appointment as soon as possible. Appointments are usually scheduled on the hour, and are 45 - 50 minutes long.
Cancellations
If you will be unable to attend a scheduled appointment, please call the Center as soon as possible to let us know of the cancellation (when the Center is closed, you may leave a voicemail message to inform us of the cancellation). Please note that, due to the high demand for our services, if you miss or cancel three consecutive appointments in a given semester you will need to wait until the following semester before you will be able to schedule another appointment with your counselor.
If, for some reason, your counselor will be unavailable for your scheduled appointment, we will make every effort to contact you as soon as possible to reschedule.
As an office of NJCU, we will be closed when the University is closed due to inclement weather or other emergency situations. If you miss an appointment due to a University closure, please contact our office to reschedule once the University reopens. Click here to find out where you can learn about university closings.
