Overview 
 
Construction at NJCU

On behalf of NJCU, the department of Facilities and Construction Management (FCM) is currently managing 30 million dollars worth of bond funded Capital Renewal Construction Projects which are being implemented in two phases. The projects are funded by bonds procured through the New Jersey Educational Facilities Authority (NJEFA) in 2010 plus remaining proceeds from previous bonds.
 
Projects were identified based in part on the outcomes of the Facilities Conditions Assessment Report (January, 2009). Results of the Energy Audit (2010) were also utilized during the design process.
 
Ultimately decisions on project priorities were based on the following critical need areas:
  • Life Safety
  • ADA Improvements
  • Energy Efficiency
  • HVAC/Comfort
  • Building Envelope
  • Building Infrastructure
