|
The 2012/2013 full year policy begins on August 2nd, 2012 and ends on August 1st, 2013.
Your policy is an independant contract between yourself and the insurance company. NJCU is not the provider of your insurance or the approver of your benefits. Health insurance is mandatory (by New Jersey State law) for all full-time undergraduate and graduate students as defined by the University (12 or more credits for undergraduate, 9 or more credits for graduate).
To assist students in meeting this requirement, a discounted Student Health Insurance Plan through United Healthcare Insurance Company (FIRST STUDENT) has selected by a consortium of New Jersey State Colleges and Universities for the 2012/2013 Academic Year.
The student health insurance (FIRST STUDENT) is underwritten by the Student Resources Division of the United Healthcare Insurance Company.
The cost of the 2012-2013 student insurance policy will be added to the bills of all full-time students.
A fee of $855.00 will appear on your tuition statement for the entire 2012/13 year or $499.00 if you are a new Spring 2013 student. If you have an alternative insurance plan, you will have the opportunity to waive-out of the student insurance policy and have the fee removed from your bill.
The waive-out process is conducted through the insurance website www.firststudent.com and must be waived by the student
no later than 9/26/12 for Fall and 2/11/13 for the NEW Spring 2013 studentws. NJCU cannot waive-out on your behalf.
The link for waiving out of the insurance is now active and can be found at the insurance website noted above.
Once you waive-out in the Fall, you are waived out for the entire policy year.
