General Info
No appointment is needed to receive care at the Health & Wellness Center (Vodra 107).  All patients are seen by a registered nurse in the order that they arrive to the office, unless their condition warrents otherwise.

The H&WC professional staff can help with many of your health care needs including acute problems such as fevers, respiratory illnesses, stomach pains, sprains and strains, skin rashes, and minor emergencies, and well as assist with your chronic illnesses and concerns.

Our staff is very experienced, with a special interest and training in college health.  Both of our full-time registered nurses are Nationally Board Certified in College Health Nursing. 

Registered Nurses
The Health & Wellness Center's (HWC) registered nurses provide FREE and CONFIDENTIAL health care to NJCU's registered students. Among the services offered are:
  • First aid and emergency care
  • Short term medical treatment
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Blood pressure screening
  • Weight monitoring
  • Referrals to off-campus clinics, specialists, testing facilities, and pharmacies.
Physicians
The University Physicians, whose services are only available to students, are available part-time during the Fall and Spring semesters. A monthly schedule of Doctor's Hours is available at the HWC and in various locations across campus. There is no charge to be seen by a physician, however, bills for outside lab tests, x-rays, and prescriptions are the sole responsibility of the patient.
 
Massage Therapy (Wednesdays)
 
The H&WC is delighted to make masssge therpay available to our NJCU community.  Carol Crystal, C.M.T. is our certified massage therapist. This service is made available at the H&WC by appointment, for a reduced fee, payable directly to Carol at the time of service.  Appointments are required for massage therapy and can be arranged by calling Carol directly at (201) 913-2864  or you can e-mail her at Ceecrystal@aol.com .  We invite you to learn more about massage therpay at NJCU by clicking here.
 
Athletic Physicals & Sports Medicine
Medical services that support the NJCU athletic program are coordinated by the Head Athletic Trainer, Jessica Springstead.  Services include injury evaluation and athletic physicals for participation in sports at NJCU. Athletic physicals are conducted (by appointment) at the John Moore Athletic Complex.  To schedule your physical, contact Jessica at (201) 200-3163.
 
Services Not Provided
Vision, dental, and gynecological care is not available at the H&WC
