The State of New Jersey requires (by law) that every full-time college student must maintain health insurance coverage throughout the period of their enrollment. For the purpose of insurance, full-time undergrad students must be registered for 12 or more credits and full-time grad students must be registered for 9 or more credits.
To assist students in meeting this requirement, a discounted Student Health Insurance Plan through the insurance company (FIRST STUDENT) has selected by a concortium of New Jersey State Colleges and Universities for the 2010/2011 Academic Year. The student health insurance (FIRST STUDENT) is underwritten by the Student Resources Division of the
United Healthcare Insurance Company. Limited prescription coverage is managed by MEDCO. The cost of insurance for a traditional full-time undergraduate student is
$250.00 for this policy year. Part-time undergraduate students, graduate students, and dependants will pay higher premiums.
The 2010/2011 policy begins on August 2nd, 2010 and ends on August 1st, 2011.
