The Media Arts Department at New Jersey City University awards a BA degree or minor in Media Arts though the program is designed to allow students latitude of study in completion of their degrees. Once a major has completed their required core course loads, they may fulfill the rest of their elective credits in the various areas of study within the Department.
We feel this gives our students an advantage of both technical and conceptual practice as within the field of Media Arts, many technical skills are needed from across disciplines and mediums such as pre-production and production techniques in filmmaking, computer based digital editing, computer graphics, and digital sound mixing.
