Students with Disabilities
Disabilities need not be a barrier to studying abroad. If you have a disability and would like to study abroad, it is important to thoroughly research your planned destination.
The Study Abroad Office and
the Office of
Specialized Services
will work with you to identify options. Please contact us with questions. Disability issues should be brought to the
attention of program personnel as early in your
consideration of study abroad as possible. This will facilitate exploration of the
availability and feasibility of arrangements in other countries.
Disability access may be approached in other
countries and cultures differently.
Some countries are fully accessible while others provide few or no accommodations.
Being flexible and keeping an open attitude towards the differences in
host countries and having as much preparation and information as possible will
aid in the adjustment to living and studying in the new environment.
