The Opportunity Scholarship Program
Are you ...
Opportunity Scholarship (OSP) is the name for the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF)* at New Jersey City University. Over the years we've helped thousands of qualified students meet their academic and financial commitments and through education achieve their hopes and dreams for a better future. The program is rich in support services that focus on getting you the help you need to succeed.
For Prospective Students: Let the OSP program at New Jersey City University be your connection to the fulfillment of your goals. If you have been a resident of New Jersey for at least one year prior to receiving an OSP grant, have a high school diploma or GED Certificate, can demonstrate through an OSP interview that you have the motivation to complete a college program, qualify financially, and agree to participate in a six-week pre-college orientation program, OSP is the program for you. Please apply now! _________________________________________________________ * The Educational Opportunity Fund is one of the nation's most comprehensive and successful state-supported efforts to provide access to higher education for economically and educationally disadvantaged students. The EOF assists low-income residents who are capable and motivated but lack adequate preparation for college study. Helping students succeed and graduate, the EOF supports a wide array of campus-based outreach and support services at institutions.
Students enrolled in an EOF program receive financial assistance through grants ranging from $575 to $700. These grants are renewable annually based upon continued eligibility. Students also receive support services such as counseling, tutoring, and developmental course work. There are a limited number of student spaces available at each campus program so it is important to apply early. Final determination of eligibility is made by the campus director. The Opportunity Scholarship Program Department is located at New Jersey City University, Room 211, Vodra Hall, 2039 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, New Jersey 07305-1597
