OSP Summer Deferment & Reimbursement Policies
OSP assists its students with the following deferments and reimbursements in the summer. We encourage you to take summer courses to improve your cgpa and to speed your way towards graduation.
OSP Graduating Seniors
If you will graduate by the end of the summer, you may receive up to three credits in deferment. Speak to your counselor, Ms. Graham Wilson or Ms Smith, to make sure your name is on our list.
OSP Continuing Students
If you are registering for an OSP summer remedial course (Arithmetic, Algebra, or CW) or an AUR course (Intermediate Algebra, FYE, EC1, EC2, Civilizations 1 or Civilizations 2), OSP will pay a part of your bill (limited to one course per student). Deadlines for registering for a deferment will be announced on our website next Spring.
Reimbursements
Reimbursements for 2008 summer sessopm courses will be distributed in October 2008 and will be based on your summer grade as of the beginning of the Fall 2008 semester. Note: reimbursements may be slightly lower, depending on the funds we receive, and reimbursements will not be given to students who receive a full deferment. A= 100%, B = 50%, C/P = 25%, D, F, W, R and INC = 0%
Remember
In order to receive deferments, you need to be financially eligible to receive EOF, and your OSP counselor must verify you are in good status with the program. If you received a deferment this year and received a grade of INC, D, W, or F, you will not receive a deferment/reimbursement next summer. In order to be eligible for these summer awards, you must file your ’09-’10 FAFSA, you must let your counselor know your current e-mail address, and you must, of course, register for your desired courses on time.
If you have questions or concerns contact your counselor or Ms Dorane Johnson (201) 200-3167.
