Understanding Elective Credits
![]() On the reverse side of the transfer credit evaulation, you will see a section identified as
"Additional Degree Courses." This area houses all elective credits which also count towards graduation.
Major departments can cherry pick courses from the elective column that apply to the major. In cases where students earn blanket credit, academic advisors must review the student’s transcript to identify those courses which apply to the major.

READING THE FINE PRINT

At the bottom half of the evaluation, there are additional comments. These comments identify what else the transfer student must do in order to have a complete evaluation. If the following responsibilities are checked, the student must do one or all of the following:

1. Send updated transcripts from previous institution
2. Satisy All Undergraduate Requirments (in English, Math, Civilizations 1, Civilizations II and/or First Year Experience courses) 3. Declare Major 4. Must contact the ESL department for testing in English 5. Contact the Testing Coordinator for general testing
6. Adhere to other responsibilites (specified in "Additional Comments" section)
