Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance
Financial Management/Restructuring and Reorganization
Anticipated Vacancy

 

 

Anticipated Start Date:  September 1, 2010

Full time, tenure track faculty needed to teach graduate level and undergraduate courses in finance.  Relevant professional experience is required, along with a record of achievement as a scholar-practitioner.  ABD in field accepted; doctorate in field preferred.

Responsibilities:

  •  Teach corporate finance and financial management courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels as needed.  Emphasis on finance management /  reorganization and financial restructuring.
  •  Develop new courses and support marketing for educational initiatives at the graduate and undergraduate levels 
  •  Advise students
  •  Serve the institution as required, in support of the missions of the department, college and university

Qualifications:

  • ABD in field accepted; doctorate in field preferred
  • Relevant industry experience at the executive or managerial level
  • Ability to meld theoretical financial concepts with practical business applications
  • Teaching and / or training experience that incorporates collaborative and active learning strategies 
  • Ability to cultivate and effectively work with external constituents and the business community
  • Experience with or interest in developing expertise necessary for a web-assisted or online teaching environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and encourage collaboration
  • Commitment to working in a multicultural environment
  • Must be student centered
