Assistant Professor
Full-time Tenure Track Position
Anticipated Vacancy

 

Anticipated Start Date:         September 1, 2010

Duties:  Teach on-line, off-campus, and on-campus graduate courses in the School Library Media Specialist (SLMS) and the Educational Technology (ET) programs, supervise field experiences, and advise students who are writing their theses.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in School Library Media or related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant library media software, media tools and applications, presentation softwares, Web browsers and Web authoring, and related applications
  • Broad knowledge of pedagogical theory and current curricular practices
  • Experience with and assessment of on-line distance learning
  • Strong technology skills in web-enhanced and web-based course material production
  • College-level and/or adult education teaching experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and research background on school libraries and their interrelationship with technology
  • Experience with and assessment of on-line distance learning and electronic portfolios
  • Background in K-12 instruction
