Assistant Professor
Full-time Tenure Track Position
Anticipated Vacancy

 

Anticipated Start Date:         September 1, 2010

 

Description:

Tenure-track position:  experience in k-12 grades literacy theory/methods: strong 8background in diagnosis/assessment/clinical experiences.  Successful candidate should have knowledge of federal/state legislative initiatives and standards; literacy for diverse student populations and urban schools a must.  Candidates will teach a range of undergraduate and graduate literacy education and development skills courses.  Must be willing to assume committee work, advisement, and college planning activities.

Qualifications:  

Earned doctorate in reading/language arts and/or linguistics is required; knowledge of literacy pedagogy is essential.  A demonstrated record of research and scholarly achievements, along with knowledge of partnerships with home/school/community agencies is preferred.  The ability to teach off campus courses and courses delivered in online and blended format is also preferred.
