Assistant Professor of Mathematics
Anticipated Vacancy

 

Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2010

The Department of Mathematics at New Jersey City University is seeking a candidate for the position of Assistant Professor of Mathematics. The successful candidate will teach developmental mathematics courses, a variety of major and service courses, and graduate courses in mathematics and mathematics education and engage in scholarship and service.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching 12 credits per semester
  • Advising students
  • Contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities
  • Coordinate the department’s academic foundations or tutoring program

Education, Experience, and Special Skills Required:

  • Ph.D. in Mathematics or Ph.D./Ed.D. in Mathematics Education with MS. in Mathematics
  • Evidence of or demonstrated potential for successful college/university teaching
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience with developmental mathematics teaching strongly preferred
