No. The accommodation request form only indicates that you have a documented disability and require accommodations to participate successfully in their class.
There is
no fee to participate in the Project Mentor program. However, students must be enrolled as an NJCU undergraduate. Contact the Finanical Aid office with tuition and financial aid concerns and/or questions.
The summer orientation program is mandatory in order for students to take advantage of the full array of services available through Project Mentor. We strongly encourage first-year students to participate. Transfer students are also welcome. Transition to a four-year college environment requires a great deal of preparation for students with learning disabilities.
Therefore, it is beneficial to your success at NJCU to enroll in the summer orientation program prior to your first semester. Students who opt not to participate in the summer program may still receive reasonable accommodations through the OSS supported by recent documentation.
An applicant must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a New Jersey university or college. Students may come from both community colleges and traditional four-year universities. NJCU students may qualify and should contact the Program Coordinator for more information.
The cost of a diagnostic assessment for non-NJCU students is $125.00. A check or money order can be made out to New Jersey City University. The fee must be sent with application and accompanying documents. Project Mentor serves Hudson and Essex county universities and colleges.
Reports will be received by our offices at least two (2) weeks after the completion of the evaluation. They can be mailed or given directly to student at a consultation appointment.
From your disability support service professional at your college or university. If the professional does not have the application, one can be downloaded from our diagnostic assessment page.
