AHEAD is a professional membership organization for individuals involved in the development of policy and in the provision of quality services to meet the needs of persons with disabilities involved in all areas of higher education.
Project Eye-To-Eye is a national mentoring program that matches college and high school students with LD/ADHD, acting as tutors, role models and mentors, with elementary, middle, and high school students with LD/ADHD in order to empower these students and help them find success.
Regional Centers of New Jersey The New Jersey Regional Centers are funded by the Special Needs Grant Program, which originated with the Higher Education Services for Visually Impaired, Auditorily Impaired and Learning Disabled Students Act in 1986. The Act established a program to facilitate the provision of support services for special needs students and technical assistance to colleges and universities in the state. The grant program is administered by the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education. The Special Needs Advisory Group, composed of representatives from the special needs community, other state agencies, and postsecondary institutions, recommends changes to the program as appropriate. Currently there are eight (8) centers located throughout the state . |
