PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING
AS CHANGES MAY HAVE BEEN MADE To register, choose any of the dates listed below and click on the registration link.
Please note: candidates need to register at least 1 week in advance of the test date. That means for a Monday morning exam, you need to register by 9AM on the previous Monday. Candidates are strongly encouraged to register early, as availability for certain dates and times may be limited.
Note also: you may handwrite your essay or use a computer to take the test. There are only 15 computers available for each test session and the "writing room" only holds 15 people, so you must request use of a computer on your registration form. Availability is on a "first-come, first-served" basis. You should be aware, however, that spelling and grammar check functions on the computer cannot be used during the test and will be disabled during all test sessions.
Simply complete the online registration form (which is provided below) to register.
NOTE: The testing dates and times are included in the online registration form. You may only choose one test date and time - if you register for more than one session, your registration will automatically be CANCELED. You will be required to enter your Gothic ID and your email address when registering. Please enter both of these accurately so that we can contact you, if necessary, about the exam and so that we can accurately record your score. If you enter an inaccurate Gothic ID number at anytime, your score will not count and you will need to re- take the exam.
After completing the online form, you will see a registration confirmation on the screen of your computer. Print this form immediately and bring a copy of it with you on the day of the exam. If the information in your registration confirmation is not accurate, or you need to cancel your registration, please contact us by emailing writingassessment@njcu.edu, at least 7 days before the scheduled exam.
DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY OF THE TEST TO CONTACT RUTH ORTIZ (THROUGH OUR ONLINE CONTACT FORM). DO NOT ASK THE DEAN'S OFFICE TO PRINT OUT A COPY OF YOUR CONFIRMATION FORM. No candidate will be admitted into the exam without a written copy of his/her registration confirmation!
Click on the link to open the Writing Assessment Online Registration Form (shown below). Within the online registration form, you will see the list of dates and times for each test along with the ability to choose to take the test by computer or handwritten. If a particular day/time for which you wish to register is CLOSED, please check back on this website to see if additional spots have become available. *Do not register for an upcoming exam if you have not yet checked your score from the last exam! AVAILABLE TESTING DATES: Dates are indicated within the Writing Assessment Online Registration Form. (See link below.)
