What do I need to bring to the test?
You need to bring a paper copy of your REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION and your GOTHIC ID CARD to be admitted into the exam. Substitute forms of identification will not be accepted. If you do not have these items, you will be asked to leave immediately. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please DO NOT print out your confirmation at the testing site. It will not be accepted.
If there is a problem with your registration confirmation or you need to cancel your registration, please contact us at writingassessment@njcu.edu or 201-200-2101 at least7 daysprior to the test date.
Bring a pencil or pen -- even if you are planning to take the exam on the computer. You may also wish to bring a highlighter. We also suggest you bring a watch so that you can keep track of the time.
What time should I arrive for the exam?
The writing assessment exams start promptly at their scheduled times. To be admitted to the test, you must be on time. We suggest you arrive 10-15 minutes early. You will NOT be allowed to take the test if you arrive after the proctors have begun reading the test directions.
Some points of exam protocol to make note of:
During the exam, you will not be allowed to leave the exam room for any reason, including bathroom breaks. All cell phones and pagers must be turned off. Please do not use your cell phone as a means ofkeeping time.
