New Student Orientation (Students will be assigned to sessions according to dates of acceptance.) Tuesday, August 14, 2012
The transition from high school to college is an important milestone in the lives of young adults. The orientation program helps to aid in that transition by providing workshops, programs and activities specific to beginning college students.
Registration will begin on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 9:00am
Participation in the New Student Orientation Program is required for all new students. A one day program, New Student Orientation includes activities that are designed to ease your transition to college life at New Jersey City University. At this program, you will meet student leaders, faculty, staff, and administrators who will offer advice and answer your questions about college life. You will receive information on advisement, financial aid, university policies, student rights, and have the opportunity to get acquainted with other classmates.
Students will receive a flash drive that contains the Student Handbook and other essential information. And finally, for those interested parent(s) or family member(s), at both sessions, there will be a separate series of activities to explain their role(s) in the college-going process. Beginning in mid-May, you will be able to
register for Freshmen Orientation by using our convenient online form. In the meanwhile, should you have any concerns or questions about either program, contact the Office of the Dean of Students at (201) 200-3525 or the Office of Campus Life at (201) 200-3585.
