Student Health Insurance
2009-2010
The State of New Jersey requires that every full-time college student must maintain health insurance coverage throughout the period of their enrollment. All full-time undergraduate and graduate students at NJCU were required to carry basic health/hospitalization insurance. To assist students in meeting this requirement, a discounted Student Health Insurance Plan through Bollinger Insurance Company has been selected for NJCU for the 2009-2010 policy year.

COST The premium is automatically added to the tuition bill of full-time students. Coverage is effective August 15th, 2009 through August 1st, 2010. The full-year premium for full-time students is $166.00. Part-time students are not required to have insurance coverage and will not be charged. Part-time students can opt to purchase (directly from United Health Care) and eligible spouses and dependents of students may be enrolled in the plan. Enrollment forms can be found at http://www.firststudent.com. The University will not be involved in billing or collecting fees for this optional purchase.
SPRING 2010
INSURANCE COST FOR *NEW* FULL-TIME STUDENTS IN SPRING 2010: If you are a NEW full-time student in Spring 2010, a fee of $103.00 will be automatically added to the tuition bill for student insurance coverage effective dates (1/15/10 - 08/1/10).
INSURANCE WAIVER:
If you are a full-time student and are covered by another comparable health insurance policy, you must complete an online waiver form at http://www.firststudent.com. All online forms for Fall 2009 must be submitted no later than September 22nd, 2009. The waiver deadline for Spring 2010 is February 19, 2010.
