New Jersey National Guard Tuition Waiver Policy
Members of the New Jersey National Guard shall be permitted to attend regularly scheduled undergraduate and graduate courses and receive up to 15 credits per semester tuition-free. Guard members must have fulfilled all their military requirements, applied for all available state and federal grants and/or scholarships, and be matriculated students in good academic standing.
It is required that you apply annually for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), even if you feel you are not eligible for assistance. For instance, if you are found eligible for the Federal Pell Grant, the New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant (TAG), and scholarships that is equal to or greater than your tuition cost, then your may not use the NJNGTP that semester because your tuition is being paid for by federal, state grant money or scholarships.
Financial aid application should be completed as soon as possible after January 1st. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility. For an application or to apply online go to: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
In providing this benefit, the College is in compliance with N.J.S. 18A:62-1.
Steps for Registration and Payment Clearance Students must see Elaine Pluchino located in the University Advisement Center - Vodra Hall, Room 101. Bring the National Guard Free Waiver Program form with all department's signature and Commander's Certificate of Eligibility to Bursar's Office immediately after registration to clear the tuition. The waiver is for Tuition only.
Institution requires National Guard students to pay fees at the Bursar's Office at the same time of submitting the require documents to clear tuition.
