The CSS is An outgrowth of university participation in the BEAMS’(Building Engagement and Attainment for Minority Students)initiative, which was intended to facilitate minority students’ participation in and completion of higher education.
Designed for
all NJCU students, the CSS will be a repository for study skills and learning strategies resources, including peer tutoring in entry level courses, workshops on achieving academic success, and referrals to academic departments and support programs.
MISSION
As part of a diverse and inclusive community, the mission of the Center for Student Success will be offer access to quality peer and professional tutoring services and academic resources that will enable students to attain the necessary skills, strategies, and behaviors to improve their academic standing and to identify appropriate career objectives.
SERVICES PROVIDED BY CSS
•Individual and Small Group Peer Tutoring
•Study Halls in Basic Math and English
•Workshops on Study Skills, Learning Styles, Information Literacy, Financial Literacy, and Success Strategies
•Access to Computer-based Learning Skills Materials and Resources
•Referrals to On-campus Academic and Personal Assistance Programs
•Co-Curricular Transcript Application
•Learning and Study Skills Strategies Inventory Administration
•Exposure to Leadership Opportunities
HOURS OF OPERATION

Regular Hours
Mondays through Thursdays,
11:00am until 7:00pm
Fridays 1:00pm until 4:00pm

Study Hall Hours- (No appointment is necessary)
Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:00 noon until 2:00pm 5:00pm until 7:00pm
