• Responds to all student issues, concerns and emergencies
  
  
• Serves as the primary “link” between the students and the faculty, administrators, and staff
  
  
• Strives to extend the learning environment beyond the classroom,
  encouraging the intellectual, emotional and ethical development of the students
  
  
• Implements initiatives to improve the campus climate, to facilitate student success, and to welcome and orient new students
  
  
• Ensures the fair and impartial treatment of students without regard to race, color, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, national or ethnic origin, disability or status as a disabled veterans
  
  
• With the exception of Academic Foundations courses, notifies and advises students with regard to their academic progress (probation and dismissal) and maintains records of their status
  
  
• Oversees and administers the Student Code of Conduct and the No Tolerance for Violence Policy
  
  
• Investigates all student behavioral issues and determines appropriate sanctions
  
  
• Provides access to students’ disciplinary records in accordance to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act Regulations (FERPA)
  
  
• Develops and distributes to the Student Handbook, the Gothic Guide
  
  
• Apprises appropriate faculty and staff with regard to students’ extended absences and maintains related records
