EMERGING LEADERS INSTITUTE
Vision
The Emerging Leaders Institute is designed to specifically target first year students. It is the vision of the Office of the Dean of Students that ELI participants gain experiences and resources that will help first-year students make an easier transition to college life. At the completion of the Emerging Leaders Program and the end of their first year at NJCU, students would have had a dynamic campus experience, gained invaluable resources and met new friends. Ultimately, students would want to continue their education at NJCU and would feel more comfortable and connected entering their sophomore year.
Mission
The Emerging Leaders Institute is designed to strengthen the leadership skills of first year students. Participants are exposed to leadership programming, seminars, field experiences and it is the hope of the Office of the Dean of Students that Emerging Leader participants gain leadership abilities while learning new skills, establish a network of friends and mentors, as well as become integral parts of the University community.
