Useful Resources for Students Enrolled in My Classes Secure a Library Card from the NYPL : http://www.nypl.org/help/library-card --I urge you to make the trip into Manhattan early in the semester to visit the New York Public Library. You can secure a two-month visitor's pass on site, which will allow you to access the library's considerable databases and other holdings. You cannot borrow materials from this library, but you may print and make xeroxed copies. ----- NJCU Library : http://www.njcu.edu/guarini/home.htm --You may access a variety of literature and literary critical databases, the Oxford English Dictionary, Books in Print, and OSCAR through this site. NJCU Library Interlibrary Loan Form : http://www.njcu.edu/Guarini/Forms/ILL.pdf --Use this form to request that the NJCU library borrow a book or article that is not part of its holdings. Allow two weeks for delivery. ------ Voice of the Shuttle : http://vos.ucsb.edu/browse.asp?id=3 --VoS is a tremendously expansive collection of literature web pages and sites useful to all students of literary studies. ----- Literary Resources on the Ne t : http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/~jlynch/Lit/ --Similar to Voice of the Shuttle, this is a collection of web pages and sites, articles and essays, devoted to literary critical discussion. Spend a little time familiarizing yourself with what's here. ----- MLA Citation Creator : http://www.calvin.edu/library/knightcite/index.php --You should familiarize yourself with MLA quotation and citation guidelines, but this is a handy on-line mechanism to help you convert your bibliographical information into proper MLA-style citations. Feel free to use it, but be sure that you understand what it's doing for you. |
