Muriel Rand is a professor of Early Childhood Education at New Jersey City University. She teaches courses in classroom management, working with families, action research, and early literacy education at both the graduate and undergraduate level. She writes a blog called The Positive Classroom which focuses on strategies for working with challenging behaviors and creating positive learning environments. Her research focuses on how teacher dispositions develop over time.

Dr. Rand is also a prolific grant writer, specializing in funding from the U.S. Department of Education.
