The Department of Music, Dance & Theatre offers a wide selection of musical opportunities for its students. The performance possibilities range from solo recitals to chamber music, large instrumental, and choral ensemble concerts to opera and musical theatre productions.

 

There are several undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including classical performance, jazz performance, music education, music business and music theatre. Qualified undergraduate students are able to major in two music major disciplines simultaneously. Music Department scholarships and graduate assistantships are offered based on both academic and peformance excellence.

 

In addition to the many performances on campus, our students have easy access to an abundance of wonderful music performed at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and in the many New York City concert halls and museums that are just minutes away.

 

The Department of Music is certified by two national accrediting organizations: The National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the Middle States Association. We are also a member of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) and the New Jersey chapter of the MENC.
