The NJCU Woodwind Studies program is recognized as among the finest in the country. It maintains a faculty of nationally renowned woodwind performers and educators, all of whom are active in the New York music industry.
The collective faculty performs every semester for their students in Faculty Recitals. In addition, outstanding woodwind artists are brought to the campus to present recitals and masterclasses several times each year as part of The Great Performers Series. Some of the artists who have recently visited NJCU include flutists Robert Langevin, Paul Dunkel and Keith Underwood; clarinetists Stanley Drucker, Ricardo Morales, Eddie Daniels Nad Mark Nuccio; saxophonists Phil Woods, Albert Regni, Dan Goble, and Charles McPherson; double reed specialists Rick Ranti and Laura Albeck; and chamber ensembles the Borealis Woodwind Quintet and The Bronx Arts Ensemble.
