Are you an Entrepreneur?
Here are a few questions you should think about:

Man on shoe.

ARE YOU A SELF-STARTER?

It will be up to you - not someone else telling you - to develop products or processes, organize your time, follow through, close sales and deliver 100% customer satisfaction.

A
OW WELL DO YOU GET ALONG WITH DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES?

You will need to develop working relationships with a variety of people including customers, vendors, employees, bankers, lawyers, accountants, etc. Can you deal with a demanding client or unreliable vendor in the best interest of your company?

AOW GOOD ARE YOU AT MAKING DECISIONS?

You will have to make decisions constantly, independently, quickly - and under pressure.

AOW WELL DO YOU PLAN AND ORGANIZE?

Many business failures could have been avoided through better planning. Good organization - of financials, inventory, production schedules, and your employees - is essential, and becomes even more important as you grow your company.

AS YOUR DRIVE STRONG ENOUGH TO MAINTAIN YOUR MOTIVATION?

Running a business can wear you down because you carry all the responsibility alone. Strong motivation to make the business succeed will help you survive the tough times.

AO YOU HAVE THE STAMINA?

Entrepreneurship is challenging and exciting, but it's also very hard work. It can take a toll on your health. Can you face 12-hour work days, often 6-7 days a week?

AOW WILL YOUR BUSINESS AFFECT YOUR FAMILY?

Entrepreneurship is hard on family life. You may be asked why you don't "get a real job" and you may experience financial difficulties until the company becomes profitable.

According to anthropologist Dr. David Givens, we are born with a faith in the future that is stronger than logic. Risk takers and entrepreneurs draw on the same primitive, irrational quality in their brains that inhabits the dreams of lions, cheetahs, wolves and other hunting mammals. It's the conviction that the next hunt will succeed, and we'll bring home the kill!

While there is no way to eliminate all the risks associated with starting a new company, you can improve your chances of success with good planning and sound preparation.

On the bright side, you will be your own boss.

Hard work and long hours directly benefit you,
providing challenge and opportunity.

We at BDI wish you success - whatever you decide.
