The NJCU Fire Science program is the only university-based bachelor’s degree program in the State of New Jersey. This progressive, student-centered program is designed specifically to maximize student learning, professional success, and career advancement. All NJCU Fire instructors are committed to the learning and success of their students. Each has outstanding teaching credentials and are recognized for their professional accomplishments through the term of their 20-plus years of fire service experience. Classroom teaching is highly interactive, emphasizing leadership development and teamwork through student-centered learning. Recognizing the inherent variability of student’s life schedules, all classes are supplemented with distance learning capabilities. The curriculum is composed of courses recognized as pertinent for the comprehensive development of today’s firefighter. The textbooks employed are those recognized by the N.J. Department of Personnel for fire service promotional examinations.
