Administrative Assistant Anna Scanniello brings to the Fire Science department over 25 years of administrative experience. She received her B.S. degree from York College of Pennsylvania in 1982 and a Master’s of Public Administration from Kean College in 1988. Her career began at the Summit YWCA, in Summit, NJ where she was the Assistant Health, Physical Education and Recreation Director and then shortly becoming the department’s Director. Then in 1990 she was hired by the Millburn Police Department as a Police Officer. Then as valedictorian, she graduated from the Jersey City Police Academy, Class #57. In 1993 she left the police department to raise her children and continued her career part time at the Somerset Hills YMCA, Basking Ridge, NJ. As her children grew, Ms. Scanniello began working full time holding both Associate Director and Director positions through out the YMCA primarily in the areas of Safety and Aquatics. Ms. Scanniello stayed at the YMCA until October of 2009, when she became the Administrative Assistant to Professor Kevin S. Malley, chairperson of the Fire Science department at NJCU.
