Bachelor of Arts – Mathematics, Bachelor of Science – Fire Science (Summa cum Laude). After serving in the United States Army in the Viet Nam Campaign, Chief Eggers was appointed to the Jersey City Fire Department in 1975. A rapid series of promotions followed; Lieutenant (1979), Captain (1984), Battalion Chief (1987), Deputy Chief (1992), Chief of Department (1995). Chief Eggers served as Chief of Training and as Fire Official from 1992 to 1995. Currently serving as the Hudson County Fire Coordinator, Chief Eggers has been appointed to serve on the NJ Domestic Security Planning Group, the NJ Fire Safety Task Force and the NJ National Incident Management Systems Integration Committee. A role model for Jersey City Firefighters, Chief Eggers has earned a Bachelor of Arts from New Jersey City University in Mathematics (1975) and a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science from New Jersey City University in 1980.
