Tuition for graduate courses at New Jersey City University is relatively modest. Currently (FY 2007) tuition is $455.55 per credit for New Jersey residents, and all the courses in the Master of Science in Finance are 3 credit courses. In addition, the costs of books and other supplies are estimated to be approximately $150-250 per course. If you plan to sit for one of the national or international credentials, then you will probably want to take a review course, which typically costs about $1,000 to $1,500, and will have to pay for the examination, which is $500 - $750.
One of the advantages of attending NJCU is that NJCU has an outstanding library. What’s more, you don’t have to go to the campus in to take advantage of it. Thousands of journal articles and dissertations are available online 24 hours a day from your computer at work or at home - anywhere in the world that you have access to the internet. For busy professionals, this means that you can do your schoolwork wherever you are. NJCU subscribes to online databases that give you instant access to thousands of academic journals, other periodicals, dissertations, and books. You can search OSCAR, the online catalog of books in the NJCU library or other libraries with which the NJCU Guarini library has agreements and find just the book that you need. If you do go to the library in person, you will find modern facilities with desktop computers and docking stations for laptops are available. The Academic Computing center gives all NJCU students access to computers with Microsoft Office software and access to the Internet many hours of every weekday and weekends as well. The use of these computers, and the advice of the Computing Center personal is free with your student ID. Many of your campus courses will be web assisted. This means that while they are not fully online courses, they combine the best of both worlds - in person presentations with online elements such as syllabus and assignments, a way to turn in homework from wherever you are, and online presentations such as PowerPoint lectures.
