New Jersey City University is pleased to announce the opening of its FastTrack BSN program.  This program provides an innovative educational opportunity for college graduates that allow them to transition into the nursing role in only twelve months.
 
Interested individuals with a bachelor’s degree who have completed the required prerequisite courses, are invited to apply to the program.  Once admitted, in twelve months students will take the courses that qualify them to take the licensing examination to become registered nurses.
 
New Jersey City University’s FastTrack program is offered in two convenient New Jersey sites; Jersey City starting every September and Wall Township at the Brookdale Community College’s Communiversity in May of each year.
 
Admission Requirements  
  • Application and application fee
  • BA or BS
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 Scale ( Preferred, but NOT required)
  • Official transcripts from each college or university attended
  • Two letters of reference
    • Professor or supervisor
    • Professional collleague
  • CV / Resume
  • Admission essay
  • Standardized entrance exam (HESI, Health Education Systems, Inc.) 
Prerequisite Courses
Developmental Psychology or Lifespan Psychology 3 credits
Anatomy & Physiology I and II (A&P I and II) 6-8 credits
Microbiology 3-4 credits
Statistics (Any kind) 3 credits
 
Note: All prerequisites must have been taken in the United States within the last 10 years.

SEMESTER III

Adult Health II
Psychiatric & Community Health Nursing
Leadership & Management in Clinical Environments

Total: 21 Credits

Tuition
Tuition and fees are approximately $27,000 for New Jersey residents and $37,000 for out-of state applicants for 64 credits with other costs approximately $2,500 for books, uniforms and equipment.  Please note tuition and fees are subject to change without notice by action of the Board of Trustees of New Jersey City University.

Current applicants
At this time the deadline for Applications for the FastTrack BSN, 2010 Jersey City cohort has passed. All applicants who have submitted their application and taken the Admission exam before the April 22, 2010 deadline will be considered for admission to the program. If your application is missing relevant documents you will be contacted by phone or email. Decision letters are scheduled to be sent in mid to late May 2010 containing the decision on your application.
