Welcome to the New Jersey City University Nursing Department website! Established in 1976 as one of the first programs in New Jersey to solely service the Professional Registered Nurse returning for his or her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, NJCU Nursing has remained committed to serving this population in concord with the University’s mission of access and excellence. The quality of our program rest in a number of factors not limited to a sound curriculum, personal attention to every student, and excellent teaching. Our graduates have gone on to pursue graduate study, develop expertise in specialty areas, and assume nursing leadership positions in the surrounding NJCU community. Promoting a nursing philosophy that commits to student-centered learning, supporting diversity and cultural competency, and community service provides an excellent environment for nurturing professional growth and development.

The NJCU nursing unit believes we have the responsibility of educating and socializing our RN students for the practice of professional clinical nursing, for leadership in the profession, and for providing service to the profession and the broader community.
