equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of less commonly taught national, corporate and cyber security theories and practice, enabling them to remain integrally involved in local, national and global issues;

building a critical base of future leaders both in government and private service, who have the ability to cultivate positive interactions and relationships by working with experts both nationally and internationally;

developing professionals with more than the traditional knowledge of law enforcement and security, who can use this ability to help their organizations make sound decisions on dealing with national, corporate, and cyber security issues and policy;

preparing students with the capacity to operate on a supervisory level within the security, law enforcement and business environment;

developing strong relationships between the private and public security sectors to address issues common to both;

providing students the opportunity to obtain applied experience in the security field, preparing them to become effective practitioners; and

enhancing institutional capacity and increase the number of NJCU faculty who can educate citizens toward achieving these goals.
