Information Assurance Education
The
Dr. Dorothy E. Denning Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education was established in 2007 by the Professional Security Studies Department and recognized by the College of Professional Studies. University level recognition was approved on February 23, 2009 by the Board of Trustees after endorsements by the University Senate and University President, Dr.
Carlos Hernández.
The Center was named after Dr. Denning in recognition of her pioneering contributions to the field of Information Assurance. Dr. Denning presented at the Department's Inaugural
Northeast Regional Security Education Symposium on October 16, 2009 and accepted a plaque commerating the official naming ceremony.
