Applications accepted October 17 – 24, 2011 only
Apply online only at WWW.FBIJOBS.GOV
Volunteer Internship Program
Overview
The FBI Volunteer Internship Program is an unpaid internship
opportunity that offers undergraduates, graduates or post-doctorate students
throughout the country an exciting insider's view of FBI operations and an
opportunity to explore career opportunities within the Bureau. The Volunteer
Internship Program brings students to work at select
Field Office locations and FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC
which begins on June 4, 2012 and ends on August 10, 2012. FBI Volunteer Interns
will spend ten rewarding weeks in the summer working side-by-side with FBI
employees on a whole array of organizational matters and in some instances
important cases that are vital to the FBI mission. After completing a summer
internship, volunteer internships opportunities are also available throughout
the year at selected offices.
With few exceptions, interns will be assigned to the 56 field offices. It is
crucial that candidates are aware that the travel and commuting costs are the
sole responsibility of the student.
Students seeking academic credits from their school through the internship
program must submit their request prior to the beginning of the internship.
No matter what career path you eventually choose, serving as an FBI Volunteer
Intern will be an experience you will never forget, and one that will benefit
you in all of your future endeavors.

asking that
students apply to only one field office closest to their
permanent address or to the school where they will be residing for the summer.
(Multiple field office submissions will not be accepted.)
The 2012 Volunteer Internship
Program application acceptance period is October 17 - 28, 2011.
Candidates
must apply and submit all documents online by October 28, 2011 (resume,
unofficial transcripts, etc).
Selection Process
The FBI Internship Program is highly competitive. As part of the
selection process, FBI representatives from each field office will arrange
interviews with the most competitive candidates. Each field office will
nominate a designated number of candidates and a Headquarters selection
committee will make the final determination. Selections are based on academic
achievement, area of study, life/work experiences, and the needs of the FBI.
The FBI actively seeks women, minorities and persons with disabilities for
participation in the Volunteer Internship Program
Thank you for encouraging qualified undergraduate and
