STAFF:

Although Jennifer Mullan has recently begun coordinating the Peers Educating Peers Program in January 2009, she is not new to the Peers Educating Peers group . Over the past year she has presented workshops and co-led group therapy sessions on P.E.P. retreats, as well as facilitated weekly P.E.P. meetings when necessary. She began her history with P.E.P. as a former NJCU undergraduate and member from 1998-2002. She enjoys helping the Peppers reach the NJCU and the surrounding urban community of Jersey City, and feels strongly about providing support, education, and opportunities for students.

 

John Sherry, Ph.D., Founding Coordinator  (On leave January 2009 - December 2009)

 

Affectionately dubbed "Dr. Pepper" by the PEP members, Dr. John Sherry has been coordinating the Peers Educating Peers Program since he founded the group in 1995.  He enjoys helping the Peppers reach a wide variety of audiences, and feels strongly about providing support and opportunities for students to acquire personal and career skills that will give them a competitive edge.

 

KristieAnn Fitzpatrick, B.A., Creative Coordinator

 

KristieAnn has had years of experience as a designer, business owner, and pre-school teacher.  Her creative and humanitarian spirit has led her to coordinate artistic events such as "Art to HeART," where cards and decorative works of art are distributed to hospital patients.  She also designed one-of-a-kind bears for Greenwich House in Manhattan's "Celebrity Teddy Bear Auction."  KristieAnn holds a B.A. in Design from NJCU and has been working on her M.A. in Education.

	Philip, age 22, Business major Hometown:  Jersey City Number of years in PEP:  4   PEP has given me a better understanding of who I am and who I want to be in life.  I've opened up more, and I look forward to continuing my growth in the group.
	Luis, age 21, Chemistry & Biology majors Hometown: Lakewood Number of years in PEP: 4 PEP has taught me many new skills, such as acting, public speaking, and being a better listener. I've had the opportunity to travel to new places and educate others about ways to live healthier lives.
	Jessica, age 22, Political Science & History majors Hometown: Secaucus Number of years in PEP: 3   PEP has given me a new family and the confidence to present in front of a large group of people.  PEP has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone.
	Sherry, age 32, Media Arts major Hometown: Jersey City Number of years in PEP: 3   In PEP I've learned the meaning of teamwork and the satisfaction of giving.  I'm happy to be around positive, fun people who are here to accomplish their goals while helping others.
