Job Description

The Office of Residential Life seeks an energetic, motivated and student-centered applicants to join our professional staff in the position of Resident Counselor for the 2009-2010 academic year. The Resident Counselor is the primary administrator for an area of students numbering between 60 and 100 students, with direct supervision of 3 or 4 undergraduate staffs members. This is a 10 months part-time, live-in position that will focus on selection, training, and supervision of student staff, implementation of departmental policies/procedures and participation in a duty rotation. Responsibility will include assistance with total operation of the residence life program including programming, facility management and central office administration/operation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required! Must be able to serve for at least 2 academic years not exceeding three academic years. Must be enrolled in a local graduate level program. Preferred candidates MUST posse at least one year residence hall or campus leadership program experience, either on a professional or graduate assistantship level. Candidate should demonstrated strong leadership skills; strong communication (oral and written) skills, strong interpersonal skills and proven hall programmatic skills are essential. Additionally, high level of energy and enthusiasm for working in an extremely demanding environment.
